Tooth And Nail

Tooth and Nail by Ian Rankin is the third novel in the Inspector Rebus series. Originally titled Wolfman, the book takes the Edinburgh detective out of his familiar Scottish surroundings and into London, where he is sent to assist in catching a serial killer nicknamed "The Wolfman." The murderer is targeting women in gruesome attacks, leaving behind disturbing bite marks.

Rebus, uncomfortable in the bustling metropolis and struggling with personal demons, teams up with local detectives to track down the killer. His unconventional methods and sharp instincts put him at odds with his new colleagues, but as the investigation progresses, he begins to see patterns others have missed. As he gets closer to unmasking the Wolfman, Rebus must navigate a city he dislikes, a press hungry for answers, and a killer who seems to be taunting the police.

Filled with psychological depth, dark humor, and Rankin’s signature gritty realism, Tooth and Nail is a gripping thriller that tests Rebus’s abilities and resilience in unfamiliar territory.
